FAQs

  • Yes! There is an extra 50% charge for a second pet in the same portrait. For three or more please contact me. Because my art work is very detailed there is a maximum number of subjects that I will put in each portrait size.

  • No! I can combine photo ideas to make one portrait. I can also do a digital mock up of different layouts if needed, before I start the portrait.

  • As much as I LOVE to meet the subjects of my portraits, I primarily work from photographs so I don’t need to meet them to complete their portrait. If you would like to bring them when you pick up their portrait that would be great too!

  • Usually people email digital copies of their photos. The best quality you have available will help me create the detail my portraits are known for. However I know that sometimes only older photos exist, these you can drop off to me and I will ensure they get returned when you pick up your completed portrait.

  • The highest quality photos that you have available. As my work is very detailed a good quality photo is required. The level of clear detail in a photo will impact the level of detail I can put into a portrait. I always suggest picking a photo that captures their spirit or personality or comes with a memory. A few more close up photos will also help, especially of their eyes. Natural light is best as photos taken is bright light can wash out a pet’s fur colour, except for black fur - bright light is best for this! Also consider the angle, as this will be duplicated in the portrait - them looking up at you makes a cute photo but make sure this is the look you want for your portrait.

  • Minor changes (e.g darken eyes, adjust a unique marking) can be made without any extra charge. Major changes (e.g backgrounds, positions or multiple minor changes) will require an extra charge that will be determined by the amount of work required.

  • No, but I can recommend professional framers in my area. However, all graphite portraits are mounted/matted with a hand cut archival mat board, which will add approximately 4 inches to the portrait size. All acrylic paintings include the hardware for hanging your portrait at home without framing.

  • Yes! I have shipped artwork throughout North America using couriers and Canada Post. Shipping costs will be added to the final price of a portrait and will be calculated once the portrait is complete, packaged and the shipping method is selected.

  • Yes, a 30% non refundable deposit is required to hold your spot on my order list. The balance of your portrait price is due on pickup or before shipping.

  • All custom artwork (e.g.Commissions) are final sale. I will only refund a deposit on a portrait if for some reason I can not complete your portrait, or you request it within 7 days of deposit payment.

  • I prefer e-transfers, and cash. However I can accept most major credit cards and debit at pick up.
